PRC Filing Requirements and LERIS Account Guide for Criminology Board Exam

Before review season gets busy, prepare your PRC documents and LERIS account so filing does not become a last-minute problem.

For CLE applicants, the filing process is not just clicking Apply. You need the right documents, correct LERIS profile details, appointment, payment, printed form, and personal submission of requirements.

Start with the official PRC requirements checklist

As of checking on June 14, 2026, the PRC List of Requirements page lists the Criminology requirements separately. Students should still re-check the PRC page before filing because PRC may update documentary requirements, deadlines, and office-specific instructions.

For Criminology first timers, prepare the core civil, school, clearance, and good moral documents early. Do not wait for the filing deadline before requesting school records or clearances because these can take time.

  • PSA Birth Certificate.
  • PSA Marriage Contract for married female applicants.
  • TOR with scanned picture, Special Order unless not required, and remarks: For Board Examination Purposes.
  • College Diploma with date of graduation and SO Number unless not required; CHED equivalency documents if applicable.
  • CHED Certificate of Authentication and Verification (CAV) for first timers.
  • Valid NBI Clearance for first timers and repeaters.
  • Regional Trial Court (RTC) Clearance for first timers and repeaters.
  • Two Certificates of Good Moral Character from Barangay and Dean of School, with the corresponding dry seals.
TakeawayUse this as a student prep checklist, but verify against the PRC page before your actual filing date.

Know the repeater and refresher-course notes

Repeaters should not assume the same requirements as first timers. The PRC Criminology list includes NBI Clearance, RTC Clearance, and two Certificates of Good Moral Character for first timers and repeaters.

The PRC list also notes that after five failures, whether consecutive or cumulative, a refresher course is required effective July 4, 2022, with Certificate of Completion as evidenced by TOR for repeaters.

  • If you are a repeater, check whether your previous records and name details match your current LERIS profile.
  • If you already have multiple failed attempts, verify refresher-course requirements directly with PRC before filing.
  • Bring or prepare other documents that the Board may reasonably require.
TakeawayRepeaters should verify requirements earlier because missing one clearance or refresher document can delay filing.

Create your LERIS account before the filing rush

PRC uses the Licensure Examination and Registration Information System, or LERIS, for online exam application. The 2026 PRC schedule reminder says applications must be filed through LERIS.

Before registration, prepare an active email address, mobile number, personal data including date of graduation, valid ID information, and a JPG ID photo saved on your device. The PRC LERIS manual also notes that passwords must be at least six characters and include letters, numbers, and a special character.

  • Go to online.prc.gov.ph and choose Register if you have no account.
  • Enter your full name, suffix if any, gender, civil status, birthdate, email, and password.
  • Validate your email when prompted using the OTP sent to your registered email.
  • Sign in, complete personal information, school and course details, date of graduation, valid ID details, and upload your photo.
TakeawayThe safest time to create a LERIS account is before application season, not on the last filing day.

Apply for the exam and secure the appointment

After your LERIS profile is ready, choose Select Transaction, then the Examination tab. Select the name of examination, examination type, date of examination, and place of examination, then confirm the selection.

LERIS will ask you to set an appointment and choose a payment option. If you select PRC Cashier, you pay at the selected appointment place. For other payment channels, keep the reference number and proof of transaction.

  • Double-check exam name, exam type, exam date, and testing location before confirming.
  • Choose the PRC office or service center where you can personally submit requirements.
  • Print the system-generated application document after payment or transaction confirmation.
  • Proceed to the selected PRC Regional Office or Service Center on the appointment date to submit the printed form and required documents.
TakeawayOnline filing starts in LERIS, but students still need to follow the appointment and document-submission instructions.

Final checks before going to PRC

Before your appointment, compare your LERIS profile with your PSA record, TOR, diploma, and valid ID. Name spelling, birthdate, school name, course, and date of graduation should be consistent.

Also check the PRC examination schedule page for the current application period. PRC states that no applications shall be accepted after the filing deadline, subject only to justifiable cases in the cited Commission Resolution, and that requests for extension must be submitted ahead of the deadline.

  • Print the application form or transaction document from LERIS.
  • Bring originals and photocopies if your PRC office requires them.
  • Keep payment proof, appointment details, and reference number.
  • Check PRC advisories, room assignments, and official social channels near exam day.
TakeawayTreat filing like part of board-exam preparation: organized, early, and based on official PRC instructions.
